The Deputy Commissioner Office, Kasur performs a wide range of administrative, judicial, and coordination functions essential to district governance. As Collector, the Deputy Commissioner monitors and supervises revenue administration, disposes off revenue appeals, and acts as the representative of the Provincial Government at the district level, reporting through the Commissioner. The office also serves as Principal Accounting Officer of A/C-IV and Chairman of the District Development Committee (DDC) and other district committees, while acting as Controller General of Prices and District Relief Commissioner.
On matters of law, order, and public safety, the Deputy Commissioner oversees district-wide law and order, keeping the Commissioner and Provincial Government informed, and exercises powers under Section 144 Cr.PC and Section 3 MPO. As Controller, Civil Defence, the office may convene meetings either independently or on the request of a local government or District Police head to maintain public order, public safety, and safeguard property, with all resulting decisions binding on concerned departments. The Deputy Commissioner also holds court sessions in criminal cases as a Justice of the Peace.
In terms of coordination and public service delivery, the office supervises and coordinates with district line departments to implement government policies, and oversees duties related to Polio campaigns, elections, encroachment, traffic plans, and Addas/Bus Stands. It exercises general supervision over district programs, projects, and services, coordinates the work of allied offices and public facilities, and ensures the efficient use of public resources for integrated development and effective service delivery.
Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner supervises and monitors the performance of Assistant Commissioners (ACs) across the district and performs any other duties assigned by the Government.
